If you ever find yourself lost in the doldrums, this is very likely the local diner.
No surprises whatsoever. Coffee and soft drinks, burgers, pasta, fish. Yawn. Excuse me. It was hard to decide what to order I was so bored by the menu.
One way to get out of the doldrums is to think positive, so yes, I was getting dinner - food always makes me happy. I genuinely liked my Fish and Chips - not too much breading, light tasting, served with homemade french fries and fresh coleslaw (a deal at $8.95 - I couldn't eat it all!!!). FF ordered scallops ($17.95) and we guessed there was almost a pound of perfectly cooked sea scallops lurking under crumbled Ritz Crackers. Our server was sweet and attentive.
But the moldy bread was a turnoff right at the start. FF's side of plain white rice was offered with gravy (on the side), which tasted like chicken gravy out of a can. The space was clean but utilitarian to the point of indifference.
Note to self: Next time dine in.

I loved this place! It's very rustic and family oriented. The food was plentiful and delicious. Our server was great. Did I mention that the food was so yummy? I had the pot roast and my boyfriend had the chicken parm. Both were delicious and the portions were big enough that we both took home enough for another meal.

Don't judge this place by the decor. Definitely tired.
But if you find your way inside, get ready for good eats! Check the specials and save room for a yummy desert.
My wife and I love the fish and chips! Fresh, large fish portion, and fresh cut french fries. I ordered the bread pudding and wife ordered a slice of Boston Creme Cake for desert. So good!
I also tried the soup last time, was not disappointed. It was vegtable beef. Had great flavor and plenty of beef.
The menu is affordable. Breakfast served all day. Alot of classic meals. Liver and onions, Frank's and beans, burgers, seafood and much more.
Have had breakfast here a few times. Have not been disappointed. Family atmosphere, friendly service. Alot of local regular customers. -

Surprised by this little hole in the wall. The menu is simple but the food was decent. Nothing unique. The home fries were cooked and even a bit crispy. The coffee was good. The atmosphere was a bit lacking and there was only one waitress working on a Saturday morning. I'd go back if I was in the area again but wouldn't make a trip all the way out to Barre just for their breakfast. The prices were very reasonable for a good sized portion.
